The Jefferson Township substation is located within the Patrol Headquarters building, at 555 Infirmary Road, Dayton, OH 45427, telephone (937) 225-4144. Jefferson Township is a community consisting of 44 square miles and populated by 8,652 residents.  Jefferson Township is a diverse residential community with both commercial and agricultural businesses. Jefferson Township contracts with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office for full-time, 24 hours per day police coverage and services.

Captain Dave Hale

 

Captain Dave Hale joined the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office in 1984 as a civilian dispatcher. In 1987 he transferred to the jail and worked as a corrections officer until 1988. In 1988 he obtained reserve deputy status and served as a transportation officer. He was promoted to the position of deputy sheriff in 1989 working the overnight shift in both the West Substation and the Harrison Township substation. In 1994 Captain Hale worked as an investigator with Special Investigations and in 1995 assumed an undercover role as an investigator with both the Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Commission and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Organized Crime Unit where he served until 2000 when he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

As a Sergeant, Captain Hale worked the Jail, Dispatch, the Washington Township substation and then returned to supervisor the Organized Crime Unit from 2005-07. In 2007 he was transferred to supervise the Special Investigations Unit, overseeing numerous violent crime and homicide investigations.

Captain Hale is a native of Montgomery County. He graduated from Stebbins High School in 1981 where he graduated with honors. He attended both Sinclair College and the University of Dayton. Captain Hale can be reached by email at haled@mcohio.org or by telephone at (937) 496-7349.
